Installing AgSense® equipment will enable you to organize, control and run reports on your center pivots – all from the AgSense User Site. You can do this for each individual machine, of course, but you can also perform many of these operations for multiple center pivots at the same time.
When you have several machines connected to your AgSense account, it can become cluttered. With so many connected devices, it might be a challenge to navigate your account and find the center pivot you’re looking for. This is where the Drag and Drop feature comes in handy.
Drag and Drop
The Drag and Drop feature is useful for getting your center pivots organized for your ease of viewing. Sorting your devices alphabetically or by section number (or any way you like) makes it easier to find your devices and access the information you need. Simply click and hold the unit, and drag it to rearrange them on the page. In addition to organizing pivots side by side, you can also split up your center pivots into different “Groups.” Just click and drag the pivot down below to the “New Group” area to create a new group.
Groups are commonly used to sort pivots by categories like farm name, county, number, farm manager or crop type. Next to each Group is a “Rename” button. Click on this to edit your center pivots’ group names. In the mobile app, your devices are displayed in a vertical list. This means that the pivot on the top left of your first group will be the very first (top) unit displayed on your mobile app. Group Names do appear on the mobile app, but the groups can only be reorganized from the website.
Once you have your pivots split up into the desired groups, you can send Group Commands. This allows pivots within the same group to be started or stopped at the same time, which can come in handy when a storm is coming in or even if you just want to control the units’ start and stop times. Look for these options just to the right of the Group Names.
In addition to the immediate start/stop commands, you can schedule Timed Commands for all of the center pivots within a group. This provides an easy way to program the units to start or stop on a certain day or time, maybe during off-peak hours for load control or to quickly set up start/stop times for pivots that water the same crop type or have similar irrigation schedules. You can save time by programming many devices with just a few clicks.
Finally, let’s look at the reporting you can do with different Groups. The Pivot Summaries Report (see picture below) is an easy way to see each of your pivots’ total running wet and dry hours. Just enter your date range and choose “Generate” to view the report in a tab on your browser, PDF for a printable version of the report or CSV for a downloadable summary.
Pivot Status Overview is another option for viewing your current field status of all units. This lets you see a report of the status of all your pivots in a small, printable format.
To receive reports on a regular basis, you can click on the Account tab and choose “My Reports.” This allows you to schedule reports for Inches Applied by Angle, Events, Inches Applied by Month and a Water District Report. To utilize this, you check the appropriate box, put in your email and then choose the frequency from the drop down menu. You can even select which day of the week you’d like to receive the report and which units you would like on this report.
