Q: Where do you attend school and what is your major?
Brittney
: I recently graduated from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln with a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Q: What have you enjoyed most about being an intern at Valley Irrigation?
Brittney
: I’ve enjoyed gaining real-world engineering experience and learning about Valley products.

Q: Have you learned anything new or had an experience you want to comment on?
Brittney
: Having the opportunity to go out in the field and participate in daily meetings has been a great experience. I’ve had the opportunity to travel and go to the field twice, which has helped me to understand different failure modes for Valley pivots. Additionally, partaking in daily engineering meetings has given me the opportunity to learn more about the Irrigation division, engineering projects, and daily tasks of engineers.

Q: What is a goal you want to achieve before graduating from college?
Brittney
: In the future, I would like to continue my education by pursuing both Masters and Ph.D. degrees. I would also like to continue to be an active member of the Nebraska chapter of ASME. Finally, for fun, I would like to continue learning juggling tricks and participate in the Lincoln Juggling Club.

Q: Are you doing anything interesting this summer, besides working at your awesome job?
Brittney
: Canoeing and four-wheeling.
