On Friday, July 24, Valmont® employees at the Omaha and Valley campuses came together to gather non-perishable food items to donate to the Food Bank for the Heartland. Thanks to the generous donations, Valmont delivered 11 boxes of food to the Omaha Food Bank.
This food drive was part of a larger volunteer initiative called 24 Hours of Impact, through which Omaha businesses were challenged to do as much good as possible during a 24-hour period. Via the 24 Hours of Impact committee, the goal of this event was “To extract as much community betterment and philanthropy out of Omaha’s communities, organizations, and businesses in a fun, positive, and competitive 24 hour period.”
How to achieve this goal was determined by each company, but the 24 Hours of Impact team provided some ideas, such as: car washes, mentoring drives, food and clothing drives, pen pals and just overall awareness campaigns.
